This family home was thoughtfully designed to balance elegance with comfort, creating a timeless space where a young family can grow. The goal was to incorporate simple yet striking details—subtle at first glance, but captivating upon closer inspection.
One of our favorite design elements is the hardwood inlay at the entryway, arranged in a bordered diamond pattern and echoed down the hallways in a refined diagonal layout. These unique flooring details offer a quiet sophistication.
A key feature throughout the home is the use of black-framed windows, as requested by our clients, which anchor the space with modern contrast. While the original plan called for black cabinetry on the kitchen island, our conceptual design proposed a warmer approach. We kept the island cabinetry in a calming wood tone and opted instead for a stunning black leathered granite countertop. This choice keeps the visual focus at eye level, harmonizing with the windows and allowing the space to feel open and balanced.
We also chose to highlight the range hood enclosure, anchoring the two flanking windows and forgoing upper cabinets to ensure the windows remained a central feature. In the Powder Room, we embraced bold elegance with soft black accents, creating a standout space that has quickly become a favorite for its striking style and dramatic presence.
Throughout the home, soft patterns and textures create a playful, inviting atmosphere—perfect for a young family to enjoy now and for years to come.
